What is a rug size guide?
A rug size guide matches rooms and furniture to standard rug sizes. Instead of guessing between a 6×9 and an 8×10, you look up your room type, for example queen bedroom or 6-seat dining, and get the size designers would specify, plus how to place it.

What are the standard rug sizes in feet and cm?

What is the correct size for a rug?
The correct size anchors your furniture and fits your room. At least the front legs of major pieces should rest on the rug, 12–18 inches of bare floor should show at the walls, and when torn between sizes, size up. The calculators on this site apply all three rules to your measurements.
Should furniture legs go on the rug?

Is an 8x10 rug small?
No. 8×10 (80 sq ft) is the most popular rug size in America: the default for queen bedrooms and standard living rooms. It only reads small in great rooms and large masters, where 9×12 or 10×14 take over.
Is 7x9 a standard rug size?
No. The standard ladder jumps from 6×9 to 8×10, so 7×9 is rare and usually custom, which costs more and ships slower. Pick the nearest standard: 6×9 for tight rooms, 8×10 otherwise.
